Road works note: the Great Western Highway at Victoria Pass, between Hartley and Mount Victoria, is closed for rebuilding until around mid-2027. Until it reopens we run via the Darling Causeway or the Bells Line of Road, and our pickup times allow for the extra time.
Neighbours can each book from their own page — the closest areas we cover are Shadforth, Millthorpe and Moorilda.

Byng is a historic rural locality in Cabonne Council. It was first known as Cornish Settlement after Cornish families arrived from the 1820s and was renamed Byng around 1854. Its 1842 stone chapel was the first Wesleyan chapel west of Bathurst. Copper was mined there from 1849, and the 1851 Ophir gold discovery was nearby. The 2021 census counted 52 people.
Byng is about 20 km east-south-east of Orange and about 43 km west-north-west of Bathurst. It sits at about 866 m in hilly tableland country between Orange and Bathurst.
Visitors can see the Bethel Rock memorial from 1932, the 1873 chapel (now a Uniting church, used mainly on special occasions), and historic cemeteries, including William Tom's grave. Historic homesteads such as Springfield, built in 1854, are on private land. The Ophir goldfields area is nearby.
A taxi over 245 km runs on the meter with no set price, and few will come out to Byng for a pre-dawn start. Public transport means a coach or drive to the nearest station, a train to Central and a change to the airport line with your luggage — and nothing gets you there for an early flight. Driving yourself means about 3 hr 12 min each way plus airport parking for every day you are away. See the full comparison.

Family down the road or a friend on the way — we collect from more than one address on the same run, so everyone travels in one vehicle for one fixed fare. Add the extra stops when you book.
